“Where the youngsters hang out in Taipei”
Time really flies very fast. One glance, and it’s already March. I haven’t even realized I didn’t do a post for almost a month. I’ve been travelling and it’s quite a challenge to catch up on posting photos from all my trips.
This post is part of my trip during Chinese New Year in Taiwan, Taipei and it is going to be a long post! That’s to make up for my lack of post for the past month! I will try my best to load as much as quick as possible.
Ximenting is a place where many youngsters hang out, with lots of cheap food and stylist fashion. Mostly hip-hop style clothes, tees, shoes and accessories. Walking through the streets in Ximenting makes me feel OLD!
My mum told me that many many moons back, the building below houses the most fashionable clothes during her time. She used to hang out here but now, when we walked inside this building, all the shops are selling outdated cheap clothes. The previous glory is all gone and taken over by the hip stores along the sidewalks instead.
I love the Spring/Summer collection of sneakers from Isabel Marant. I choose the purple which is super easy to match with anything. They have other colours such as cream, red or blue. It has a hidden wedge to make your legs looked longer yet it’s very comfy. If you can, try to get a pair. I’m sure you won’t regret at all.
The shiny crochet bag is handmade by my mum. I selected the wool, and my mum made it. Cool isn’t it? On my arm are Hermes bracelet and my new favourite Shourouk bracelet. You can find similar Shourouk bracelet here. Shourouk jewellery are all handmade with amazingly creativity using crystals and strings. The quality is unbelievable. One day, I may attempt to follow and make a Shourouk lookalike jewellery (that is if I can find a time).
This is the famous Ximenting Red House. You will get to see it on your left after you exit from the train station. You know you are in the right place when you see this building. The Red House is build in 1908 and is Taipei’s first public market.
These items are so long forgotten. Do you still recall you played with them when you are young. The parrots are familiar….I think I saw them in my grandma’s house when I am really young. I will love to touch them and figured how theirbody is fluffed up. Well….I guess it’s the expert in the 80s (aka bee hive hair) and probably we will just leave it there.
And there, that’s my day in Ximenting. Ending it with a last shot of my beloved Isabel Marent shoes!
